We are delighted to be working with a respected law firm who are looking to recruit a Legal Secretary for their family team. This position presents the opportunity for the right person to grow and progress within the practice and you'll be given key responsibilities from day one.

Position Overview
As a Legal Secretary within the Family department, you will be instrumental in supporting fee earners through complex legal processes. Your role will involve managing sensitive documentation and providing comprehensive administrative support across a wide range of family law matters, including divorce proceedings, financial settlements, child arrangement cases, care proceedings, and applications under the Family Law Act.

Responsibilities

  • Support fee earners with day-to-day work
  • Prepare legal documents and correspondence with accuracy
  • Manage diaries, schedule appointments and maintained organised filing systems
  • Maintain client files and respond to queries efficiently
  • Communicate professionally with clients and colleagues
  • Handle calls, emails and general administrative duties to support the team

Requirements

  • Legal aid experience and fully competent in the use of CCMS
  • Be fully familiar and experienced with HMCTs portal
  • Strong secretarial and administrative skills
  • Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
