A well-established law firm is seeking an Immigration Paralegal to join their team, and this is a superb opportunity for an ambitious individual to progress within immigration law. This is a part time role, working either 3 or 4 days a week.
Position Overview
As an Immigration Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in managing a large caseload of enquiries, providing information and advice on immigration and asylum law, and converting initial enquiries for solicitors to consider further. You will undertake casework and manage a caseload, ensuring clients receive timely updates on their case progress and appropriate advice on relevant laws, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage large caseload of enquiries from new clients
- Gather and collate information from prospective clients
- Provide advice on immigration and asylum law
- Undertake casework up to OISC competence level
- Prepare documentation for clients' cases and hearings
Requirements
- Degree level education with legal background
- OISC Qualification equivalent to level 1, 2 or 3
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong initiative and ability to prioritise work
- Understanding and sensitivity to other cultures
