An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join the family law department of a well-established regional firm in Essex. This role offers exposure to high-quality family work within a collaborative and well-resourced team and in addition to providing essential support, you will be encouraged to take ownership of appropriate matters and develop your own fee-earning capability.
The department is known for its broad and sensitive family law practice, advising clients on all stages of personal and relationship breakdown. This includes nuptial and cohabitation agreements, divorce and separation proceedings, dissolution of civil partnerships, financial remedy work, children-related matters, and cases involving domestic abuse.
On a day-to-day basis, you will assist with the smooth progression of files by preparing and managing legal documentation, undertaking client-facing work such as initial meetings and telephone calls, drafting witness statements, responding to new enquiries, providing updates to existing clients, and supporting court preparation including bundles and filings. You will also be trusted to move matters forward independently when fee earners are unavailable.
The firm is seeking an individual with a genuine interest in family law and prior experience in a legal setting. You may be studying towards, or already hold, qualifications such as CILEX Level 3 or 6 or a Law Degree. Strong organisational skills, excellent communication and a client-focused approach are essential.
In return, the firm offers a friendly and flexible working culture alongside a very competitive benefits package.
