A superb opportunity is available for a Legal Costs Draftsperson to join a well-established and expanding Personal Injury team within a respected Legal 500 law firm. This role offers the chance to take ownership of a varied costs caseload, working alongside an experienced team and contributing to a team that values collaboration and excellent client service.
The Role
You'll oversee costs matters from initial preparation through to assessment and resolution, providing essential support to fee earners throughout the process. Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare Bills of Costs, litigation budgets and cost estimates.
- Draft Notices of Commencement, Points of Dispute and Replies.
- Negotiate costs and manage assessment proceedings.
- Monitor deadlines and oversee post-assessment work.
- Prepare appeals and attend Detailed Assessment Hearings.
- Advise fee earners on costs matters, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
- At least two years' experience in legal costs drafting.
- Experience in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence is desirable.
- Strong communication, analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Well organised, self-motivated and able to manage deadlines independently.
